Uninstalling the ClustrixDB software

John Sheaffer -

Versions:  7.0

The steps below can be used to uninstall the ClustrixDB software on a server.

WARNING:  When you perform this procedure, any data stored on this server will be lost and unrecoverable.

1) Remove the node from the cluster (if necessary)

If the server on which you wish to uninstall ClustrixDB is currently part of an active cluster, to maintain data protection for the rest of the cluster, first use FLEX DOWN(softfail) to remove the node.

Wait until the entire Flex Down procedure is complete, and the node has been completely removed from the cluster.

For details on using Flex Down to remove a node from your cluster see the documentation: Reducing Your Cluster's Capacity - Flex Down

2) Stop ClustrixDB Services

On each server you want to uninstall ClustrixDB, stop the ClustrixDB services:

# service clustrix stop

3) Run the uninstall_clustrix script

On each server you are uninstalling ClustrixDB on, run the uninstall_clustrix script:

# /opt/clustrix/bin/uninstall_clustrix

You will be prompted to confirm the action.  Type "y" for Yes, or CTRL-C to cancel.

After the script exits, the uninstall is complete.
